6 Areas To Evaluate Yourself

If you are to check on a scale of 1-10 how far you are performing in certain areas of your life, what is going to be your score in these areas? A lot of us will not have a good enough reply for this question.
Self-evaluation is a way to know how well or badly you are doing in areas that has to do with how your life progresses. You ask yourself certain honest questions about yourself and also answer these questions honestly. If you can do that, you will discover that you will be able to know how you are progressing in life.

Here are certain important areas you should evaluate yourself…

1. Ambition

You should definitely have a plan for your own life because no one is going to help you live your live and by planning you are securing your future. To evaluate yourself in the area of your ambition, you will watch out for some certain things-

- Know what your ambition in life is. Ask yourself- “what do I really want to do with my life”
- Know what your motivation is. What drives you to move on, what makes you want to work and get results?
- Know what you focus on in your everyday life, that’s most likely where your ambition lies.

With these few questions, you can know what your ambition is and how far you have gone.

2. Achievements

Pick your notebook and list the number of things you have achieved. Also list those things you will want to achieve and determine how far you have gone towards getting these things done. Be true to yourself and make sure you critically analyze your achievements. By doing this, you are helping yourself know what you should be doing and what you should not concentrate on per time.

3. Strength

You can do much more in certain areas than you can in some but you cannot easily know what areas your strength lies if you don’t take time to find out. Study yourself and know what you love to do, know where you perform and function well. When you do this, you can know what strength you need to develop more and where.

4. Leadership

This is one area that you should really look into while evaluating yourself. Do you have natural qualities of a leader? Are you always at the fore front of issues or do you do perform better as a follower? Ask yourself and discover for yourself where you stand. While you might not be too good as a leader, it is very ok to be a follower because we are humans and we have various capacities where we function greatly and for some, leading is not just it. Don’t blame yourself when you discover you are not a natural born leader, you could do very well as a follower.

5. Persistence

Pushing yourself to do things is very good but you have to . What’s your level of persistency? How often do you want to learn and how much do you really wish to learn that thing? Are you persistent enough when it comes to doing things? Are you really interested in pushing more and more until you get results or you just back out when it starts getting tough?

Now ask yourself these questions and know in what areas you find yourself persisting more and in what areas you most times relax.

6. Confidence

What level of confidence do you possess, and in what areas? You can be very confident when it comes to certain things, but when it comes to others, you find yourself stuttering. What areas have you built your confidence? Building your confidence in a particular area is actually knowing quite a lot about that area. So the fact that you are not confident in an area doesn’t mean you cannot be confident in that area at all, it only means stepping up your knowledge and ability in that area.

You can evaluate yourself by finding answers to these questions alone, or you meet those you know that can assist you in getting the answers. Sometimes, people know certain things about us more than we do and they are sometimes more honest than we are in answering questions about ourselves. So while you get your answers by yourself, you can also get answers from others as well.

Note: Take a notebook, write down these areas and write down your observations on each one. Follow up on your progress by doing this often.
